Customs Service Announces Recruitment of New Officers –

The Nigeria Customs Service is preparing to recruit 3,927 new officials to enhance its trade facilitation and border security operations. This move was given the green light at the 61st quarterly meeting of the NCS Board of Directors, chaired by Finance Minister Olawale Edun, in Abuja. The recruitment comes on the back of the impressive performance of the NCS, which has generated over £5 trillion in revenue by November 2024.

This achievement contributes significantly to the government’s revenue target and is expected to play a crucial role in achieving the ₦35 trillion revenue target for 2025. The success of the NCS can be attributed to the reforms implemented by the President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, who enhanced his performance.

Minister Edun commended the NCS for its key role in Nigeria’s economic recovery, highlighting its efforts in cracking down on smuggling and promoting trade. The recruitment exercise aims to provide young Nigerians with the opportunity to join the NCS and contribute to its mission of supporting economic growth and development. This initiative is in line with the government’s ambitious spending target of ₦48 trillion for 2025.
