In an exclusive interview with Sports247.ng in Lagos, Bashiru acknowledged that several players in the team are fasting, and the team has had to adjust accordingly.
“Yes, they are fasting, and we cannot stop them, it is their religion. Even me, as a coach, I am also fasting. I cannot tell you that they do not, but we are finding ways to handle it. I do not think it significantly affects their performance,” he said.
Bashiru also went to his recent 3-0 house defeat against the Amazonas Nasarawa in the Nigeria Women’s Soccer League (NWFL), the Premier Lehip Week 9 at the Pitch Legacy, the biggest loss at home of the season of the season.
“That is football. Sometimes you plan a game, but things are not going as expected,” he admitted.
“This loss is a reminder that we need to improve our tactical and technical training sessions so we can recover stronger in the next game.”
Speaking about the ambitions of the club, Bashiru emphasized the importance of retaining his statement of prime minister and continuing to provide maximum exhibition for his players to promote their careers.
“As you can see, the team is quite different this year compared to last season. Some of our key players moved to other clubs, which is good for their development. Our priority as a modest club is preparing the players of the base and giving them exhibition,” he explained.
“We want to show our players so that they can compete at this level and progress in their careers,” Bashiru concluded.
