The Defense Headquarters claimed on Friday troops deployed to the area of operations killed 572 suspected terrorists in July.
Director of Defense Media Operations, Major General Edward Buba, disclosed this in a statement on Friday in Abuja.
He said troops also arrested 790 suspected terrorists along with other criminals and rescued 479 hostages during the period.
Buba said his troops found 440 weapons, 10,589 rounds of ammunition consisting of 232 AK47 rifles, 93 locally assembled weapons and 82 Danish-made weapons.
The troops also found 32 pump-action guns, 5,041 rounds of 7.62 mm special ammunition, 2,768 rounds of 7.62 mm NATO ammunition, 659 bullets, 63 other types of firearms, and 2,259 rounds of ammunition.
The spokesman said: “In the North East, troops of Operation Hadin Kai neutralized 254 terrorists, arrested 167 suspects and rescued 80 kidnapped hostages. A total of 3,976 Boko Haram/ISWAP terrorists and their families surrendered to troops during the period.
“In total, 106 AK47 rifles, 36 homemade rifles, 29 Dane rifles, 17 mixed firearms, 1,644 rounds of 7.62 mm special ammunition, 968 rounds of 7.62 mm NATO ammunition and 1,379 rounds of mixed ammunition were confiscated. .
“In the North-Central region, Operation Safe Haven troops managed to neutralize 50 terrorists/violent extremists, arrest 135 suspects, and rescue 80 kidnapped hostages within a month.

“The troops also found 32 AK47 rifles, 28 homemade weapons, 27 other types of firearms, 773 rounds of 7.62 mm special rifle bullets, 200 rounds of 7.62 mm NATO rifle bullets, and 178 rounds of other types of bullets.
“Operation Whirl Stroke troops managed to neutralize 24 terrorists, arrest 56 suspects, and rescue 59 hostages. They also managed to seize a number of weapons and ammunition.
“In the Northwest, Operation Hadarin Daji troops neutralized 152 terrorists, arrested 102 suspects and rescued 144 hostages kidnapped in July.
“The troops also found 48 AK47 rifles, 24 homemade weapons, five homemade firearms, 1,462 rounds of 7.62 mm special rifle ammunition, 1,079 rounds of 7.62 mm NATO rifle ammunition, and 94 homemade bullets.”
