Former Bayelsa State Governor, Seriake Dickson, on Wednesday urged “disgruntled members” of other political parties in the country to join the National Leader of the Nigerian Democratic Congress (NDC).
Dickson, who represents Bayelsa West Senatorial District, made the call while speaking with journalists after the inaugural meeting of the party’s National Executive Committee (NEC) in Abuja.
The former governor, who described the NDC as a platform built on clarity, inclusivity and purpose, said that individuals who feel “stifled” in their current political affiliations should consider joining the party.
According to him, the NDC offers new direction for those who think their party has lost focus or failed to meet expectations.

“For those who feel dissatisfied, marginalized or confined within their current party, this is an opportunity to be part of something new and inclusive.
“For those unsure of leadership or direction, we offer clarity, stability and purpose. This is your party,” he said.
Dickson added that the NDC has a clear vision on national governance and development.
He assured prospective members that there is no ambiguity regarding the party’s mission and commitment to the Nigerian people.
Responding to concerns that welcoming disgruntled politicians from other parties could lead to internal tensions, the NDC leader rejected such notions and stated that the party’s ideological foundation and structured framework would prevent such challenges.
“We are an ideological party. Although everyone welcomes it, we have clear principles and structures to manage growth and defend our values,” he concluded.
