Diesel explosion: no alarm cause, says Ogun Govt

The State Government of Ogun, Tuesday 20 May, has assured the athletes who participate in the National Sports Festival (NSF) in the course of Abeokuta, as well as the residents of the State, their safety, following an explosion of Cisterna Diesel near the Alake sports complex, one of the facilities used for the current sports festival.

Special councilor of Ogun State Governor for the media and strategy, Kayode Akinmade, in a declaration, said that while there was an accident that involved a diesel oil tanker that caused an epidemic, the fire was immediately put out to prevent any damage.

Akinmade praised the promptness and proactivity of the firefighters in the state and the supervision of the officials of the complex, ensuring the participants in the total security sports festival.

โ€œThe accident of this afternoon involving a gas oil tanker near one of our structures for the National Sports Festival was very unfortunate. We thank God that the fire was immediately put out to avoid any victims.

“To this end, we want to ensure all our athletes and people of the state of security and that there is no cause of alarm as the situation is under absolute control”, the declaration has read.
