Dr. Ibrahim Abdul seeks the re -election as president of NWF Saturday elective congress

The 2025 elective congress Nigeria Weightlifting Federation (NWF) will hold on Saturday 16 August with the president in office, dr. Ibrahim Abdul Aladi who seeks the re -election to consolidate his transformative registers in the first term.
A total of 14 candidates were eliminated by the NWF electoral committee to contest various elective positions with the president in office, dr. Ibrahim Abdul Aladi in the running for the re -election as the only candidate
President elected NWF on September 30, 2021, the four years of administration of the weight lifting under dr. Abdul have witnessed better shows, development and improvement in all spectra of sport.
Nigeria athletes have obtained remarkable companies in continental and global competitions, the assistance and training structures of athletes/coaches have also received priority attention.
In a press declaration issued by the Federation’s media officer, Amaechi Agbo indicates that a total of four candidates are contesting the position of vice -president, five per member of the executive council, three candidates are in the running for the position of the technical representative while there is a single candidate for the position of representative of the athletes.
The candidates for the position of vice -president are: Iquaborn Lawrence Tom, Ibeh Luke ONWPEPE, Olarinoye Steve and Nwankwo Innocent Chukwuma.
The candidates of the member of the Executive Council include: Lasisi Kazeem Adremi, Okoro Louis Azubuike, Zana Umara, Sen. Hussini Babangide Uba and Ini Okon.
Candidates for the position of technical representative include Onubaye Sefiya, Nwadel Christopher and Ubobo Emmanuel Nwaph. 2022 Bronze Medal of the Commonwealth, Osijo Taiwo, is the only candidate for the position of representative of the athlete
The main journalists report that the NWF electoral congress of 2025 will hold at the Gymnasium Hall, the National Stadium of Moshood Abiola, Abuja, the B pack starting from 10 in the morning.
