Dubois can’t stand Joshua’s fire

Boxing promoter Eddie Hearn has predicted that Anthony Joshua will be too difficult for Daniel Dubois to handle ahead of their IBF heavyweight showdown.

The two will meet at Wembley Stadium, London on September 21, 2024 to fight for the IBF heavyweight title. If Joshua wins the fight, he will become a three-time world heavyweight champion and will have the chance to face either Oleksandr Usyk or Tyson Fury for an undisputed heavyweight championship.

In a chat with Boxing sceneHearn believes the former champion has what it takes to beat Daniel Dubois when the two step into the ring against each other.

“They’re both very dangerous. Some people call it a ‘shootout.’ But I think AJ is the better sniper. He’s too accurate; he’s too good; and I think if you’re going to get hit against Anthony Joshua you’re going to be in serious trouble, and AJ’s not going to stand in front of him like Filip Hrgovic and just throw shots.

“These are two very dangerous heavyweight punchers who are in the best form and confidence of their careers. For Dubois, the fight with Miller and Hrgovic has brought him to the most dangerous point of his career so far. It’s not a good time to fight Dubois, and it’s definitely not a good time to fight AJ. The key takeaways for me are two huge punchers in their prime.”
