Edo Killing: Emir Sanusi Begs Kano Youth against attacking Non-Raya

Emir Kano, Muhammadu Sanusi II, has urged young people in the state not to take law into their hands by attacking non-innocent non-people.

The king reacts to the murder of 16 Hausa travelers by hordes of Uromi, Esan North-East Government Area in the state of Edo last week.

Emir, who made a call after leading the Eid al-Fitr prayer on the land of Kofar Mata in the Capital of the State on Sunday, said that young people could not vent their anger at the non-tribumi community in the state because of the terrible murder of travelers in the state of Edo.

Sanusi said: “We got information on Saturday night that young people in several regions plan to launch a counterattack on non-Indian-Indian people after Eid al-Fitr. We instructed them not to carry out such attacks.

“We ask them not to take the law into their hands. They must avoid legal disruption and order. We ask all traditional leaders to be vigilant.

“Likewise, we ask the relevant authority to ensure justice for the victims. They must investigate and demand the people behind the Barbarian law.”

He also called for a comprehensive investigation of mass actions and concrete steps taken to hold the perpetrators’ accountability.
