Edo Queens dominate AS Garde 5-0 in CAF Women’s Champions League qualifiers

Edo Queens got off to a flying start in their CAF Women’s Champions League qualifiers by defeating AS Garde 5-0.

The match took place at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium in Benin City, Nigeria.

Emem Essien opened the scoring for the Nigerian champions in the 35th minute. Captain Suliat Abideen doubled the lead just before the break, converting from the penalty spot.

In the second half, Edo Queens continued their dominance as Moses Esther added his name to the scoreboard and Essien scored again, making it two goals for the team.

The victory puts Moses Adukwu’s women at the top of their group with three points.

In the other group match, Hasaacas Ladies of Ghana and AS Etincelle of Burkina Faso drew 0-0, leaving them tied with one point each.

Edo Queens will face Hasaacas Ladies in their next match as they look to secure a spot in the next round of the tournament.
