Edo Queens have made history as the second Nigerian club to win the WAFU CAF Women’s Champions League B qualifying tournament.
The Benin club won the competition after Bayelsa United claimed the title in 2022.
Edo Queens defeated Ainonvi FC of Benin Republic 3-0 in the final of the regional competition.
The match played at the Stade de la Paix, Bouake on Friday night, saw the Edo women’s team dominate and it paid off.

Captain Suliat Abideeen put Moses Aduku’s side ahead before half-time.
Powerful striker Emem Essien doubled the lead in the 60th minute before Elizabeth Ukandu scored an own goal 14 minutes from time.
With this result, the Nigerian champions have secured their place in the CAF Women’s Champions League.
