EFCC demands a man for the alleged theft of N45M

The Economic and Financial Crime Commission (EFCC) on Wednesday approached one Bahshaw in the Lagos Special Violation Court, Ikeja, for the alleged theft of N45 million.

The commission charged the defendant along with his company, Terraworks Limited, on charges of two counts of conversion and stealing illegal.

However, the defendant claimed to be innocent for the accusation.

Previously, the EFCC prosecutor, Ny. Fadeke Giwa, urged the court to choose the date of the trial and return the defendant to the correctional facility while waiting for the guarantee application session.

Giwa told the court that the defendant was suspected of violating around May 2023 in Lagos.

The prosecutor said that the defendant was suspected of obtaining N45 million under the pretext of using money to pay a three -bedroom flat located in Ogudu Gra, Lagos but allegedly failed to do so.

According to him, the violation violated part 1 (3) of facetow fraud and violations related to other fraud No 14 of 2006 and part 278 (2) (b) Criminal Law of the State of Lagos, 2011.

Judge Olubusola Okunuga returned the Bagshaw in EFCC detention and postponed the case until May 22 for hearing the request of the guarantee.
