Fearon, who was general secretary of the Anglican communion between 2015 and 2022, said: “The situation is not a healthy development at all. Our non that does not help to solve it when it started is a reflection of the elderly in the state who do not interpret their roles sufficiently. Unfortunate situation that polarized the political elites in Kaduna.”

He invited political leaders and citizens to stop the politicization of religion in Nigeria in general, and in the northern states in particular saying: “Anyone who has faith in God is a partner of believer, our religions are different, religion does not save anyone!”

He added: “Religious leaders should stop poisoning the minds of their members with what their scriptures do not teach, the believers, as described here, can work together, serve and develop kaduna together. You have your religion and I have my religion, asks us for cooperation and competition of faith of faith. The difference.”

However, he advised Kaduna’s political leaders to change their attitude towards governance, “young people ask for governance tests, let there are responsibilities, transparency and fairness. We want equal treatment on the basis of qualifying, experience and performance, making the public know what is happening and how our resources are shared!”.
