Elderly women, head of the war council for the demarcation of the land in the Ebonyi community

The elderly women of the Isoll community of the Local Government area of Onicha in the state of Ebonyi and the Prime Minister, the head of the ikechukwu Ogboffia, do not agree on the methods adopted in the demarcation of a controversial land.

The fetricidal conflict between Isolls and the nearby ABAOMEGE community led to the loss of different lives and the destruction owned by the value of millions of Naira.

The previous administrations in the state tried to end the conflict unnecessarily, which made the governor Francis Nwifuru of the land administration.

The elderly women of Isinkwo who count over 50, organized a protest at the home of the government of Ebonyi on Monday, claiming that the Prime Minister was using his influence to encourage his abaomege community in demarcation.

During the protest, the leader of the ISINKWO Community Union Union (ICHU) Women Wing, Mrs. Margaret Iumo, said that the imperfect demarcation process could cause violation of peace.

“We are looking for the urgent intervention of the government governor, such as the relief we had when the demarcation began on February 17 was disappointed.

“We realized that the demarcation was without regard to the government’s white paper which is the legal framework for the terms of the settlement.

“We also noticed that the process was not transparent, favoring the community of Abaomege on Isinkwo.,”

She complained that the survey map which is a critical component of the White Paper, has also been ignored by those who undertake the demarcation.

“We complained severely but refused to provide the map for the necessary driving guide.

“We could not have disturbed ourselves if the map was hidden by both communities, but had received information that the Prime Minister was in possession of the map.

“The six palettes in controversy are captured in the White Paper with their names, but the demarcation has extended to our heights, to the ancient buildings, to the old elementary school, among others”.

The Prime Minister, the head of Ikechukwu Ogboffia, denied the accusations of compromise, observing that it was neutral in the demarcation process, as head of the Council.

“The communities of Isolls and Abaomege are brothers, Inter-Marry and therefore should live like a family.

“This is a long conflict by age that led to the loss of many lives and I worked during my campaign, to repress it permanently.

“People should be grateful to the governor for the bold step of the demarcation of the earth and therefore of shun acts or expressions that would deal with the process”.

He observed that he was not saddened by the task of demarcation as the government will guarantee that the process was right and right.

The state commissioner for border peace and the resolution of conflicts, Donatus Ilang urged women to embrace peace to ensure that the conflict was resolved permanently.

“This conflict has claimed the life of our fathers, mothers and children, therefore efforts should not be spared to deal with it permanently.

“I will transmit your concerns to the appropriate authorities, but you should maintain peace, which is fundamental in the resolution process”,
