The chief coach of South Africa, Desiree Ellis, acknowledges that Banyana Banyana enters Wafcon under pressure as defense champions, but she insists that they are taking the tournament one at the same time.
Ellis said that, although many players of the 2022 winning team remain, including 14 main members, the team does not perceive itself as the head of the title, but as the contestants with the aim of demonstrating their value once more.
