End of an era of godfathers in Edo State; Say no to Obaseki, his godson and business partner, Asue Akintunde Ighodalo

By Thomas Peter (Drastic Piro).

As we approach the Edo State gubernatorial election scheduled for September 21, 2024, it is imperative that we carefully consider our choices for the future of our dear State. This election is not just about choosing a leader, but also about rejecting the old corrupt practices that have hindered our development. It is about ending an era of godfatherism as written and interpreted by Governor Obaseki. It is also about ending the undemocratic imposition of his godson, Asue Ighodalo, a grand ploy aimed solely at safeguarding business interests and protecting the evils of his mismanagement. We must stand firm in rejecting godfatherism, which stifles democratic growth and keeps power concentrated among a few influential figures, ignoring the will of the people.

We need to elect leaders who truly understand and embrace our cultural heritage. A leader who cannot speak his native language is disconnected from the roots and values of our community. Such disconnection amounts to a complete lack of understanding of the needs, desires and aspirations of the people.

Therefore, I urge you to vote for Senator Monday Okpebolo of the All Progressives Congress (APC). Senator Okpebolo represents a new vision for Edo State that is based on transparency, accountability and sincere commitment to the welfare of the people. His record of service and dedication proves that he is the right choice to lead our State into a new era of development and progress.

On September 21, let us make a choice that reflects our desire for change and our commitment to a better future for Edo State. Let us reject the influence of the godfathers and their selfish interests.

On Monday, vote for Senator Okpebolo as governor and Honourable Dennis Idahosa as deputy governor.

Vote APC!
