Energy ABA is the only disco not penalized by Nearc for years, “say electricity consumers – Thage

ABA Power Electric Ltd is the only electricity distribution company (disc) in Nigeria that has not been penalized for any form of infringement.

This disclosure was made today in Awka, in the state of Anambra, by the Nigerian Electricity Consumers Association (Neca), south -east of the area, after the monthly meeting at the Trigoint Hotel, Nibo.

“We are satisfied with the fact that Aba Power, the twelfth disco of Nigeria,” said the leaders of the South -East of Neca in a declaration signed by Engr Joe Ubani, the president and his partner Chris Okpara, the secretary, “has reached this enviable status due to his close adherence to all the rules and regulations of the Commission for the regulation of Nigeria (Denr).

“We encourage the 11 Legacy discos inherited from the deceased Power Holding Company of Nigeria (Phcn) to learn from the ABA power that it is interesting to benefit from billions of Naira granted to 11 discos from the federal government in the form of subsidies and other forms of intervention from the privatization of the Phcn in November 2013”.

Ecan has also praised the power use for his enormous implementation of free cash which he described as aggressive.

ABA Power is working with four indigenous and foreign companies to install 20,000 intelligent monthly counters in its fenced area that covers nine of the 17 areas of the local government in the state of Abia to over n33 billion.

“We are confident that the company will achieve its measurement of about 100,000 customers this year,” said the association.

“No disco has had such a bold and aggressive ambition and works very hard to make it”.

Responding to the news that a member of the Chamber of Representatives, Ikechi Alozie, recently moved a motion that asked the Chamber of Representatives to direct the Nearc to order the ABA power to review its rate downwards, Ecan described the Electricity Consumer forum that wrote a petition to the effect of the member who represents the member who represents the member who represents the member who represents the member who represents the member who represents the member of the member of Obingwa/Ugwunagbo/Onisingaoma Federal Extinctural.

“When they went to the upper court of Isiala Ngwa in the state of Abia last January asking the Court to cancel the Nearc order on a new fee for the ABA Power, nine months after the electricity regulator had approved a similar fee for the other 11 albums in Nigeria”, observed the association of electricity consumers, “Justice Eenyinnaya Ikpeazu called the group group because it is not available right.

“On May 21, the honorable judge threw his suit because he was wrong from any count.

“The leaders of the so -called people are known without work that openly and infinitely blackmailing the residents of ABA to give them money to fight for them without ever showing how the funds raised were spent”.

The ACAN officers said that if only Ikechi had taken the trouble to conduct a preliminary investigation on the claim of the signatories, he would have easily found that the petition “did not worth the document on which it is written”.

South electricity consumers -East recommended Hon Ikechi to borrow a leaf from the Chamber of the Assembly of the State of Abia for power and public services by visiting the premises of the ABA Power to see how the utility is leading local and international companies to assemble the prepaid counters in ABA that would create “over 35,000 direct and indirect jobs for our people”.
