Ex-von Dg, Okechukwu gave Gov Mbah Go-Ahad to join APC

Former Director General of The Voice of Nigeria (VON), Ocita Okechukwu, said on Monday, the Governor of Enugu State, Peter Mbah, was free to join the Congress of all Progressive (APC).

Okechukwu, who is a member of the APC Foundation, stated this in a statement issued on Monday on behalf of the APC Foundation members in the state of Enugu and Southeast.

He reacted to the statement credited to the Minister of Innovation, Science and Technology, Head of Uche Nnaji, to the new party members at a meeting on Sunday at Enugu.

NNAJI during the meeting set aside automatic tickets for politicians who planned to join APC ahead of the 2027 general election.

However, the former von boss convinced the Governor that he would be fully welcomed at APC.

He said: “We, members of the APC Foundation, want to expressly declare that His Majesty, Dr. Peter Mbah, and his group wholeheartedly were welcomed with APC Enugu State in accordance with our major party standard conventions.

“Governor Mbah and his group need not be feared by anyone.”

Okechukwu said that APC members were confused, “Why Nnaji, who himself came from the people’s Democratic Party (PDP), pursued the Governor of Mbah who was performing extraordinary.”

“For us, members of the foundation, the governor of Mbah must ignore our dear brother, the head of NNAJI, because we want to win the Singa Building for the first time and join 23 other states to guarantee the victory of the Tinubu Bola President in 2027,” he added.

He suggested NNAJI to pay more attention to his services.

“If not, we will not allow the Head of NNAJI who are in fourth place with 14,575 votes in the governor election and polluting the atmosphere for President Tinubu with 4,722 in the 2023 presidential election for APC waste again,” Okechukwu concluded.
