Under the scorching sun or the relentless rain of the Nigerian terrain there exists the young football prodigy whose sole objective is to etch her name in the football history books.

At just 15 years old, in Akerebiata, a commercial center within the Ilorin East LGA of Kwara State, Kafilat Abdulafeez already knew that for her it was football or nothing. This he pursued with zeal, courage and dedication.

Having played for Model Queens and Kwara Ladies, the 20-year-old center back currently plies her trade for Osun Babes Football Club in Osogbo, one of the teams participating in the 2025/2026 Nigeria Women’s Football League (NWFL) Premiership season.

For Kafilat, football is a process of learning and growth. Despite some challenges she faced, her tenacity, hard work, fighting spirit and determination to succeed give her the edge over other teammates who play the same position as her because she believes that every opportunity that comes her way should be used to showcase her skills to the team’s team of coaches and fans.

Sleep helps the defender regain his mental strength. He does this as a means of relaxation.

Rice and beans are his favorite food and he usually prefers the colors black and white.

Whether she is on the field defending fiercely or relaxing with her favorite food, this Nigerian player continues to strive to make a mark in the NWFL.
