Exclusive: Do the coaches now eat the last? A slap too much in the National Sports Festival camp!

In what is now spiral in a full -fledged shame, a worrying incident in one of the state camps that is prepared for the 22nd National Sports Festival has ignited the indignation between the coaching staff, who claim that they are being systematically respected offenders, beginning with the way they feed.

On the night of Monday, May 12, during what should have been a routine dinner, according to reports, coaches were told to wait until all athletes had eaten before they could approach the dining room.

This directive, which blatantly undermines the unity and hierarchy of the team, has caused a violent reaction of several technical personnel affected.

“This slap is too much for us continuing to last,” said a harmed coach. “In each camp I have attended, whether state, national or international, food is done as a team. This policy of ‘first athletes, the last coaches’ is a humiliation, not hospitality.”

The strange practice not only defies the basic label of the camp, but has also led to deeper disturbances between the training team. The situation became more tense when a coach got up and expressed what many already felt:

“For me, oh, I will suggest that we are not going to that meal tomorrow. We will not die if we do not eat that food. We should leave them and their food because that food is giving us many insults. That is my suggestion. Thank you and that God bless us all.”

The message hit hard, not only because of his challenge, but for what he represents: a break point.

In a camp that should encourage unity, discipline and mutual respect, the failure of the administration to implement the basic structure of the team now threatens morality and cohesion. Instead of focusing on tactics, exercises and preparation for glory in Abeokuta, coaches feel apart in their own field of duty.

If this state hopes to have an impact on the National Sports Festival, you must first fix the fractures inside. Respect, they say, win, but must also occur. It is time for administrators to recognize that the success of athletes begins with the strength of their coaches.
