The Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offenses Commission (ICPC) will on Tuesday arraign former Kaduna State governor, Nasir El-Rufai, before the Federal High Court sitting in Kaduna for alleged fraud and related offences.

The anti-corruption agency said El-Rufa’i will be arraigned alongside Joel Adoga in a case marked FHC/KD/73/2026, bordering on charges of conversion and possession of public property, as well as money laundering.

ICPC Spokesperson, John Odey, who disclosed this in a statement on Monday in Abuja, confirmed that the former governor was duly notified of the charges prior to his arraignment.

According to Odey, the commission also filed a separate case against El-Rufai and Amadu Sule of the Kaduna Light Rail Transit Authority (KADLRTA) before the Kaduna State High Court.

He said the case, with charge number KDH/KAD/ICPC/01/26, involves allegations of abuse of office, fraud, intent to commit fraud and conferring unfair advantage.

“The two cases were dismissed on March 18, 2026. While the Federal High Court arraignment is due on March 24, the date of the State High Court proceedings will be communicated in due course,” Odey said.

The commission reiterated its commitment to ensuring due process and strict adherence to the rule of law in the prosecution of corruption-related crimes, ensuring that the matter will be prosecuted in line with established legal procedures.
