Can we meet you?
A: My name is Akinbami Oluwatobi Israel, originally from the state of Ondo and graduate in Biochemistry at the prestigious Federal University Oye Ekiti, where I earned a 4.58 cgpa. I consider myself deeply curious, always in search of truth, with a special passion for biochemical studies.
Have you always targeted a first class or has it become a goal along the way?
From the beginning, I was convinced that I could get a first class. Even if I was also passionate about the leadership and policy of the students, I realized that I could excel in both with an extra effort.
Can you guide us through your trip during your time on the campus?
The Campus Life was a mix of ups and downs, but overall a great learning experience. Every challenge taught me precious lessons.
Which habits or study routines have helped you excel academically?
I didn’t have a rigid routine, but I was consistent. I examined my courses at least three times before the exams and created my questions of practice. I also studied daily and continually monitored my progress.
Have there been specific challenges you faced as a biochemistry student and how did you overcome them?
I faced generic challenges such as the lack of academic support and poor learning environments, but I learned to anticipate and overcome obstacles before they became the setback.
How did your faith influence your approach to academics and life in general?
My faith was my stronger pillar. I have often remembered that understanding spiritual issues – invisible things – made me confidence to deal with what I could see academically.
How did you keep your high motivation during your academic trip?
I really liked learning. It was not a question of overcoming the exams; It was a question of building knowledge models that I could apply.
You mentioned that you are active in campus politics: how did you balance it with your studies?
I was involved in strategic leadership roles aimed at improving university. I balanced everything by meticulously planning, writing my duties and using tools such as sticky notes and my “FTACH Note Block”.
Was there moments that you felt overwhelmed trying to juggle everything?
Absolutely. I had to face low votes, financial pressures and disappointments, but I monitored my mental health and concentrated on calm and clarity.
What personal systems or tools have helped you effectively manage your time and responsibilities?
A: I created my system called “Ftach Notepad” – the flight thoughts are captured here – a blackboard that I used to organize tasks and keep track of my progress.
Looking back, what was the most rewarding aspect of your university experience?
The most rewarding part was to have a positive impact on people and learning from interactions beyond the classrooms.
How did your interactions with other students modeled your world view?
The conversations and the resolved involvement with several colleagues have expanded my perspective and helped me make informed decisions.
Have there been sacrifices you did to maintain excellence?
Yes, I deliberately limited the extracurricular activities and I refused the commitments to focus on my goals.
If you could recommend your younger ego who just started the university, what would you say?
Build strategic relationships with staff and colleagues, both junior and elderly. It is precious.
What are your dreams in the future and how did your time modeled them at school?
I aim to be a student for a lifetime, to pursue post -laurea studies and explore social entrepreneurship in education.
