A fan entered the court during the women’s basketball quarter-final match between France and Germany on Wednesday.
The unidentified fan ran toward center court with 6.9 seconds left on the clock.

He remained on the court for a couple of seconds until he was removed by security.
It was the first such incident in men’s and women’s basketball at the Paris Olympics.
France won the close match 84-71.
Marine Johannes recorded the most points (24), while Gabby Williams added 15 points, 6 rebounds, 5 assists and 2 steals.
France will face Belgium, who defeated Spain in the semi-final earlier that day.
