Felicite Foreign Affairs Minister with the Catholic faithful on the emergence of Pope Leo XIV
Abuja (basic reporter) as Catholics around the world celebrate the emergence of Pope Leo XIV to succeed the late Pope Francis, the honorable minister of foreign affairs, the ambassador Yusuf Maitama Tuggar, has extended his warm congratulations with his Catholic affairs.
A spokesman for the spokesman, of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Kimiebi IMOMOTIMI Ebienfa said: “Nigeria rejoices from the global Catholic community in this important and historical opportunity and prays for divine wisdom, strength and guide for the new Pope as he assumes this sacred responsibility.
“We are confident that with his wealth of experience and devotion, his holiness will bring with compassion, humility and a firm commitment to peace, unity and spiritual well -being of humanity.
“As a nation with a significant and great Catholic population, Nigeria appreciates the lasting relationship between the Holy See and our country. Therefore, we can’t wait to continue promoting interreligious dialogue, harmony, social justice and the common good of all people.
“Once again, Nigeria congratulates Pope Leo XIV and the entire Catholic faithful. Its papacy can be blessed with grace and profound impact on the world.” The declaration concluded.
Recall that Pope Francis died on April 21, (Easter Monday) and left a void in the Vatican city, but according to the church trial to elect a new Pope just eighteen days after a new pope emerged.
