FG declares public holiday on Thursday

Abuja (basic reporter) The federal government declared on Thursday 1 May 2025 as a public holiday to celebrate the celebration of this year’s workers’ day.

The Minister of the Interior, Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, who made the declaration on behalf of the Federal Government reiterated the need for peace to guide industrialization and economic growth.

Dr. Tunji-Ojo praised workers for their diligence and sacrifice. He observed that workers’ efforts are largely responsible for the size of the country and the commands of Nigeria in the nations committee.

According to the minister “, there is dignity in work; the dedication and commitment to the work we do is vital for the construction of the nation”. He therefore urged workers to absorb the culture of innovation and productivity.

Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo has encouraged workers to raise the level of their profession to guide and improve the governance bar and make sure that all the people of Nigeria derives the maximum benefit from the wealth of the nation.

He assured the Nigerians that “this administration is fully engaged in the safety of life and ownership of every citizen and foreigners in the country”.

While they wanted to workers a happy celebration, the honorable minister urged the Nigerians to keep hope alive while the current administration of President Bola Tinubu is engaged in the agenda of renewed hope that he promised.
