FG imposes advertising, the transparent hiring process in federal tertiary institutions

The Minister of Education, Dr. Maruf Tunji Alausa, directed all the federal tertiary institutions to which exemptions were granted to recruit staff to publicly advertise the vacancies available in at least one national newspaper, on their respective websites and other relevant academic and professional magazines.

According to a declaration, Thursday, signed by the director Press of Public Relations, Boriowo Folasade, the directive aims to guarantee a transparent, open and competitive assumption process that offers equal opportunities to all suitable Nigerians.

β€œThis follows the exemptions granted to federal tertiary institutions based on sending made by these institutions relating to their workforce requirements, in line with the Ministry’s commitment to improve the ability of our higher education institutes.

“In addition, it is reminded of all federal tertiary institutions to present their recruitment needs to the Ministry for the revision by the Committee for renunciation and recruitment. The Ministry has put in place adequate mechanisms to guarantee compliance and will not hesitate to apply sanctions against any institution that cannot not join this directive.

“The federal ministry of public education remains firmly dedicated to the promotion of integrity and equity in all issues relating to the Nigerian higher education system,” he said.
