The Federal Government introduced N-ATLAS, a large linguistic model open source, multilingual and multipled designed to support English Yoruba, Hausa, Igbo and Nigeriani.

The Minister of Communications, Innovation and Digital Economy, dr. Bosun Tijani announced the launch in New York during the 80th General Assembly of the United Nations, noting that the initiative places African items at the center of the global development of the AI.

Developed by the National Center for Artificial Intelligence and Robotics in collaboration with Awarri Technologies, N-ATLAS is equipped with vocal technology tools such as the recognition of automatic speech (ASR) for transcription, accessibility and applications in local language.

The model allows chatbots for government services, the transcription of radio/television broadcasts, subtitles in local languages, call-center automation and summary of interviews in indigenous languages.
