Shettimo lead the Nigerian delegation to the UNGA 2025

Guided by the strategic priorities of Nigeria, our participation will focus on the following key areas:

c) advancement of human rights;

d) effective coordination of humanitarian assistance;

e) promotion of justice and international law;

f) commitment for disarmament; AND

g) Cooperation on drug control, crime prevention and the fight against international terrorism.

His excellence, the vice -president is scheduled to face the General Assembly on September 24, 2025, where the Nigeria National Declaration will highlight the country’s contributions to international cooperation, peace and global security and global security and measures to deal with the multifaceted impact of climate change.

In addition to the general debate, Nigeria will actively participate in numerous high -level collateral events, further consolidating its role as a constructive partner in facing the most urgent challenges for the global community.
