The main financial institution, Fidelity Bank Plc, highlighted its dedication to interventions focused on the community with the donation of a block of classrooms and textbooks just renewed at the ASSO PADA Secondary School, Mararaba in the area of the local government of Karu in the state of Nasarawa.
The Elite Bankers class class, through the Fidelity Helping Hands Program (FHHP), supported a renewal in class and a donation of books as part of the bank’s corporate social responsibility initiative.
FHHP allows Fidelity Bank staff members to identify the needs of the community, raise funds and receive support combined by the bank.
At the delivery ceremony, dr. Meksley Nwagboh, head of the division, brand and communications, said that the project supports the bank’s attention on quality education and the empowerment of young people.
The project was financed with voluntary contributions of the staff members of the recently induced staff, combined with the bank.
He said: “The school was selected due to its role in the development of Mararaba residents. The school had not undergone a renewal in the last fifteen years and with the support of the bank and the resources aggregated by our class of induced by elite bankers, this renewal is now possible.
“We encourage the beneficiaries to put the structure for good use and reaffirm the devotion of the Fidelity Bank to continue supporting the delivery of quality education for the entire length and width of our country.”
Responding to the bank’s gesture, the main deputy administration, the secondary school of the ASO PADA government, Abdullahi Idris, appreciated the bank for the gentle gesture and also praised the government’s efforts to provide a better learning environment for school students.
His words “Your investment in our school is an investment in the future of our nation. We are inspired by your commitment and we can’t wait for a lasting partnership that will continue to strengthen and enhance our students. We continue to work together to build a brighter future for our children and communities”.
The donation comes to join the vast intervention of the Fidelity Bank in the Nigerian educational sector. It will be remembered that the Bank has recently donated 1,000 school envelopes equipped with sunburnt lamps to school children in all areas of the local government in the state of Ogun to allow the study of pupils after sunset, especially in the areas where the power supply of food is a challenge.
