The Real Madrid midfielder Luka Modric, has expressed his appreciation to the president of the whites, Florentino Pérez, for showing him a special affection during his time with the club.
Modric played his last game for Real Madrid in the 4-0 defeat against Paris Saint-Germain in the Club World Cup earlier this week, and after that game, he spoke with the Club’s official media channels to reflect on his time at Santiago Bernabéu.
“The president has been very important to me, first because he brought me here. From that moment, he has always shown me a special affection, he has always treated me very well.

“Now I can say it: he treated me differently, I had a very special affection for me. And I think he showed him in my last game, because I had never seen the president cry.”
In his career with Real Madrid, Modric said: “It is difficult to say, but they are mixed emotions. An unforgettable, glorious and victorious effectiveness is over. What I have experienced gives me even more joy.
“Remembering everything I have achieved here makes me very happy, even if it is over. In Real Madrid, I have grown up as a player and as a person. Real Madrid has given me everything in football, and that is why I will be grateful for life. I will always be a Real Madrid fan.”
The Real Madrid contract of Modric will officially expire when the Club World Cup concludes this weekend, but despite being 39 years old, its time at the upper football level is not yet coming to an end.
