Flying Eagles are out of the U-20 World Cup

The Flying Eagles were eliminated from this year’s U-20 World Cup in Chile tonight after being defeated 4-0 by tournament favorite Argentina.

Argentina took the lead after two minutes thanks to top scorer Alejo Sarco, before doubling their advantage in the 23rd minute.^third Minute through a free kick by Maher Carrizo.

The six-time champions completed the rout in the second half with two more goals from Carrizo and Mateo Silvetti to set up the quarterfinal match against hosts Chile or Mexico.

The Flying Eagles’ defense, led by captain Daniel Bameyi, was shaky and the team failed to create opportunities early on.
