Flying Eagles Group Stage A disguised blessing – Zubairu coach

The coach of the Flying Eagles, Aliyu Zubairu, has stated that the main objective in the next Cup of Nations of Africa U-20 is to ensure the qualification for the World Cup.

Drawn to Egypt, Morocco and South Africa, Zubairu acknowledged the quality of their opponents, but emphasized that the team must adopt the test.

“If we want to get the ticket to the World Cup, we cannot avoid anything. Being in the same group as Egypt and South Africa at this stage is a blessing,” said Zubairu.

“We know that they are football nations that we need to respect at any level and it is a challenge for the team as a whole.”

The tournament will begin on April 27 in Cairo, Egypt, and will serve as the African classification event for the U-20 World Cup in Chile.

The four semifinalists in the tournament will automatically reserve their places in the global masterpiece.

As part of the preparations, the seven times African champions have relocated their training base in Abuja, where the camp officially opened on Monday.

Since then, the team has started intensive training sessions before the tournament.

Zubairu, who led Nigeria to successfully defend his Wafu B U-20 championship crown in Togo last October, has invited a total of 35 players to the camp.

The team includes 3 goalkeepers, 8 defenders, 10 midfielders and 14 attackers, all competing for places in the final team.

The technical team is expected to cut the list in the coming weeks as the team continues its accumulation.

The Flying Eagles expect not only to qualify for the World Cup, but also a strong impression on the continent once again.
