England and Manchester City star Phil Foden has been named PFA Player of the Year after his outstanding performances in the 2023/24 season.
Chelsea’s Cole Palmer won the PFA Young Player of the Year award. The 22-year-old scored 22 goals in 34 Premier League appearances in his first season with the Blues.
The PFA revealed this on Tuesday in a statement on their website.
Foden beat off competition from team-mates Erling Haaland and Rodri to claim the title.
Other players nominated in the category include Arsenal’s Martin Odegaard, Chelsea’s Palmer and Aston Villa’s Ollie Watkins.

βFoden anchored Cityβs Premier League title charge, scoring a career-high 19 league goals and eight assists during the campaign,β the PFA wrote.
βThere were two hat-tricks included in those 19 goals in the wins over Brentford and Aston Villa.
βThe 24-year-old has also been in outstanding form in Europe, finishing City’s Champions League campaign with five goals and three assists in just eight appearances, including a superb strike at the Santiago Bernabeu.
βFoden is a two-time winner of the PFA Young Player of the Year award, winning it in 2021 and 2022. He won the PFA Playersβ Playersβ Player of the Year award for the first time, in the same season he was also named the Football Writersβ Association Playersβ Player of the Year.β
In the women’s category, Manchester City’s Khadija Shaw won the Player of the Year award and Manchester United’s Grace Clinton was named Young Player of the Year.
