Forces arrested 42 oil thieves suspected of Delta Niger

The Delta Safe operation forces have arrested 42 alleged oil thieves and restored a large amount of stolen crude oil and illegal products that were illegally enhanced in the past week.

Director of Defense Media Operations, Major. Markus Kangye revealed this when giving direction to journalists about the armed forces operation on Thursday in Abuja.

Kangye said the troops recovered 201,345 liters of stolen crude oil, 29,730 liters of automotive gas oil that were illegally enhanced (then) and 1,759 liters of Dual Purosee (DPK).

He added that the troops also destroyed 18 cooked ovens of crude oil, 32 resting holes, 16 ships, 21 storage tanks, 17 drums and 19 illegal purification locations in operations.

Other restored items include pumping engines, drilling machines, rickshaws, motorbikes, cellphones and 13 vehicles.

“In addition, 42 oil thieves and other criminals were captured, while various kinds of weapons and ammunition and some explosives were also found,” he added.

The spokesman also revealed that the troops arrested a famous cult leader identified as Prince Johnson Isirim, or known as the Junior Commander and 13 other alleged criminals in Ahoada East, the regional government of the State of Rivers, Oshimiri, Warri South and the area of the Delta State Ukwani Regional Government.
