Ibekwe stressed the summit as a powerful platform to increase action, forge partnerships and share innovative solutions that can accelerate the development of Africa, “said Ibekwe.

“We are proud to have Plant International as themed partner for the 2025 edition. The topic of this year’s summit is” downsizing of the action: bold solutions for climatic resilience and political innovation “-which reflects a renewed urgency in the construction of inclusive, sustainable and aware strategies of the climate for development”, said “.

According to her, in 2019, the decade of action of the United Nations was established, but coincided with the pandemic of Covid-19, which has left many countries that fight only to survive.

While there were some victories, the progress towards SDG remains irregular, “said Usie.” The African summit of the social impact emerged as a response to this gap – to bring together public, private and thought sectors in a unified push for progress “.

In the meantime, the National Director of Nigeria International Nigeria, Charles Usie, underlined the importance of partnerships in achieving the global development objectives, in particular when the world approaches the average point of the decade of action of the United Nations (2020-2030).

He observed that this imminent event has grown significantly, with a growth of over 500% in partnerships and the participation of the delegate since its beginning. The summit, he said, is not only a conference but an action catalyst, in particular for vulnerable groups such as women and girls, who are often put aside in development conversations.

“We are leaving too many girls behind them. When critical issues such as the economy, infrastructure and security dominate political discussions, girls and women are often treated as revolts,” he complained. “He has to change.”

Usie highlighted Plan International’s commitment for the education, equity and inclusion of the girl-child, asking for daring reforms to face systemic negligence. He also referred to recent violence in some parts of Nigeria, including Benue State, where women and children have endured the weight of the crisis, underlining that the protection of vulnerable groups must become a national priority.

“We are tired of rhetoric. What we need now is a bold action, not just dialogue. Through Asis and our growing partner network, we are having a measurable impact, including innovative projects such as Thrive, which equips girls with digital and entrepreneurial skills,” he added.

The summit will be expected to present panel discussions, innovation mechanisms, round tables and commitments of leading institutions, aimed at providing real solutions in sectors such as climatic resilience, social inclusion, economic transformation and governance.
