Four more senators elected on the Democratic Party Platform of the People’s (PDP) have defected the Congress of all Progressive (APC).
The Senate President, Godswill Akpabio, reads the Senator Defense Letter during the plenary on Wednesday in Abuja.
The defects are FRANCIS FATAHUNSI (OSUN), Olubiyi Fadeyi (OSUN), AKON SAMSON (AKWA-IBOM), AND ANIEKAN BASSEY (AKWA-IBOM).

APC National Secretary, Senator Ajibola Basiru, former Governor of State Anambra, Chris Ngige, and several APC members on the House of Representatives were allowed to enter the room to witness the trial.
With this development, the number of APC senators has increased to 70 while PDP has 28.
The rest are Labor Parties (5), Social Democratic Party (2), All Progressive Alliance Grand (1), New Nigerian People’s Party (1); One while two seats are still empty.
