
Franklin Oluwasegun aka KIRAA, a key figure in African football, is making headlines in Uyo, Akwa Ibom, where he passionately supports the Nigerian Super Eagles during their first AFCON 2025 qualifier.

In an exclusive interview with Sports247.ng, Currie, the founder of KIRAA Football and KIRAA Football Academy, and the President and CEO of KIRAA TV and KIRAA Farm, shared their thoughts and enthusiasm.
KIRAA’s presence in Uyo underlines its firm belief in the potential of Nigerian football. “I need to be here because I believe in the future of Nigerian football,” said Franklin Oluwasegun.
“I see the glory days of Nigerian football slowly coming back. The current Super Eagles team has the ability to achieve greatness. We must all believe in them. They almost took home the Cup of Nations this year but unfortunately the circumstances in the final were against them.”
His commitment to the sport is evident in his various initiatives. As the founder of the KIRAA Football Academy, which trains young talents at the U-13, U-15 and U-17 levels, Currie is dedicated to building a solid foundation for the next generation of footballers. The academy’s aim is to produce players who can take Nigerian football to the world stage.
In addition to his football initiatives, Franklin Oluwasegun oversees KIRAA TV, which provides entertainment programming, and KIRAA Farm, which focuses on the community.
