The deputy chancellor of the Federal University, Lokoja, Professor Olayemi Akinwumi, praised the Late Engr Engr Joseph Makoju family for a donation of 250 sea capacity reading lessons to the institution.
The deputy chancellor gave praise while talking to the commissioning and dedication of Joseph and Enesi Oyeyani Makoju Memorial Lecture Theater, donated to the Federal University, Lokoja, from the family, held at the permanent site of the institution, Felele, in Lokoja, Sunday.
Professor Akinwumi described the theater for lessons of the ability of 250 seats as a piece of architectural master.
Deputy Chancellor who expressed gratitude to the Makoju family, said that the gift will do a lot to provide quality education necessary for university.
“For Makoju’s family, your generosity is highly appreciated and will be rewarded in abundance
“We, members of the university community, remain eternally grateful to the Makoju family for starting the project in April 2024 and today the completion with the inauguration and dedication of the building of the lessons today.
“This benevolent demonstration by the family shows their belief in making the course of the education sector advance
“We will guarantee a judicious use of the lesson for the purpose provided for in our academic journey. We are sincerely happy that the vision of the project has become reality”
Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo of the State of Kogi in his massage of good will, he supported that late ENGR Joseph Makoju during his life did well to touch people’s lives.
The Governor who was represented by the Councilor for State Security, Jerry Omodara, described the theater of the lesson as a long -lasting Legacy gesture of the family of the deceased Eng Joseph Makoju and prayed to God to continue to grant them their desires of the heart.
The governor has extended his condolences to the family for the loss of the father and son.
He invited significant citizens to emulate the philanthropic gesture of the Makoju family.
In her observations, Dr. Gladys Makoju said that the inauguration and dedication of the lesson building are part of the activities that marked the birthday of their deceased son, Enesi.
He said that the donation of the theater of lessons is part of their contribution to humanity and educational development.
He said that the event also offered the family the opportunity to remember their deceased dad, Joseph and his son, Enesi
