G7, guests meet without Trump while the conflicts are at the top of the agenda

The summit of the seven (G7) group on Tuesday begins his last day of resolutions in Canada, but without a key player USA President Donald Trump president.

On Monday evening, Trump’s spokesman announced that the President of the United States was returning to Washington soon from the Canadian Rocky Mountain Resort, due to the conflict between Iran and Israel.

Israel had launched attacks against Iran Friday and the retaliation strikes between the two enemies had since threatened to turn on a wider conflagration throughout the region.

Trump’s early departure was a setback for the G7, since the meeting was seen as a test of units in front of important international problems.

The summit should have turned to the ongoing war of Russia in Ukraine, in a session in which the Ukrainian president Volodymyr Zelensky participated.

Zelensky had also planned to keep bilateral interviews with Trump.

Trump has clarified that in no case does not have a plan to join a joint initiative for further penalties against Moscow.

He suggested that Europeans could take command and expressed skepticism on US sanctions.

G7 leaders also plan to discuss energy security with partner countries attending the summit as guests.

The Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanian, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva were present.

Others include Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum, the South African president Cyril Ramaphosa and the South Korean president Lee Jae Myung.

Next to the Canada guest, the G7 is made up of the United States, Germany, France, the United Kingdom, Italy, Japan and the European Union.

Russia was excluded from the group – previously the G8 – after attaching the Ukrainian Crimean peninsula in 2014.

This left the remaining members united in their values as western democracies, although significant differences have emerged between the United States and the others from the return to power of Trump.
