“Game with my blood,” says MVP winner Agu Chidozie

Agu Chidozie, the most valuable player (MVP) of the 2025 Island All Stars Sports Club (IASC) above 45 football tournamentHis passion for the game has described as one that crosses his blood, after inspiring Team Lush to a very close victory.

The Lush team, which represents Lush Nightclub, defeated the Akuruolo 6–5 penalties after a 1-1 1-1 draw to lift the trophy at Lagos Business School Lekki Lagos on Saturday, September 20, 2025.

Agu Chidozie, who converted his penalty with confidence, was instrumental in the triumph of his team and was deserved MVP of the competition.

Speaking to journalists after the final, the veteran expressed his joy for achievement, pointing out that determination and passion were the keys to his performance.

“I play with my heart, my spirit and my blood. I give everything in the field, and this victory is a dream come true,” he said.

Agu Chidozie shared ideas about his long soccer trip, remembering how he began playing at an early age and represented notable sides, including Enyimba.

He also revealed that he once traveled to Cotonou for a professional projection, but was hindered by an injury.

Despite the setbacks, his resistance has kept him active up to 40 years.

“I thank God that I still have the strength to play at 45. Even at age 60, I think I will continue playing with energy and passion,” he added.

The MVP winner expressed his gratitude to his teammates, fans and the organizers of the tournament for making the event a success.

In addition, he dedicated the victory to all who supported Team Lush, promising more achievements in the future.

The 2025 IASC football tournament above 45 highlighted the passion, resistance and sportsmanship that define veteran soccer players in Nigeria.
