George Beke of Nigeria, widely known as Geobek, a music executive and founder of Geobek Standard, has been officially invited to join a new class 2025 new classes from the Record Academy, the organization behind the Grammy Awards.
With induction, George Beke became the fifth Nigerian who was invited to join the Grammy Record Academy class after Dolapo Amusat, a critic and music writer based in the US; Olumide Akinlolu, Gospel Artist; Nikki Laoye; and singer Niniola.
This invitation recognizes Geobek’s contribution to the global music landscape, especially in strengthening African voices and artists on the international stage.
“We are very happy to welcome George Beke to the recording academy,” said a representative to the academy. “His extensive experience, sharp ears for talent, and dedication for cultural exchange make it an priceless addition to our creator community and music professionals. His insight will be very important because we continue to celebrate and advocate for various voices that resonate throughout the world.”

Geobek’s work, over the years, fighting for talents that emerged and foster collaboration that exceeded geographical limits and contributed to the revival of Afrobeats and other African genres around the world.

Geobek said he was proud to represent Africa and contribute to improving the standard of global musical excellence as a reaction to be chosen as a new member. He can now vote at the Grammy Awards, send music to Grammy, and support creative votes in Africa and abroad because of this.
The new member of the recording academy consists of various music professional groups.
