Gift Monday ready to join Washington Spirit

Super Falcons Forward, Gift Monday will leave Costa Adeje Tenerife for Spirit Washington in the National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL) before the league transfer deadline.

According to Radio Marca, the F Club League agreed to sell its top scorer after weeks of negotiations.

Washington’s spirit initially triggered its € 200,000 release clause, but Tenerife managed to boost a higher transfer rate.

Finally, the agreement was ended for around € 300,000.

With 10 goals and three assists in 19 appearances in the league this season, Monday has been a key player for Tenerife.

However, they left her out of the team in her 0-0 draw against Deportivo La CoruΓ±a, confirming her imminent movement to the highest category of the United States.

The 23 -year -old Super Falcons striker joined Tenerife from FC Roble Queens and has spent three seasons in Spain.

During his time in League F, he won the Award to the Player of the Month, a feat also achieved by the Nigerian colleagues Rasheedat Ajibade and Edna Imade.

His movement to Washington Spirit presents a new challenge in one of the most competitive women’s leagues in the world.
