Glo Jolly Win Promotion Produces First Millionaire

A subscriber, Olieh Somtochukwu, has become the first to win N1 million in telecom giant Globacom’s Glo Jolly Win promotion.

The promotion is organized in collaboration with Nitroswitch, an aggregator company with NCC license, and Tetragrammaton, a provider of value-added services for Glo network subscribers.

Somtochukwu, an employee of a real estate agency in Anambra State, has become the first subscriber to win one million naira in the Glo Jolly Win promotion in the first round of winnings held in Lagos on Wednesday, September 11, 2024.

Somtochukwu, who said he gambled with N100, became an instant millionaire through the promotional draw held in accordance with the procedure of the National Lottery Regulatory Commission (NLRC).

The excited winner, who received a notification on his phone of his N1 million prize during the brief presentation, said he had to travel from Onitsha, Anambra State, to collect his prize.

He claimed that after playing the lottery he forgot about it, but was shocked when he received a call informing him of his good fortune.

He added that he was not influenced by the information until he arrived at the Globacom office and saw himself at the centre of attention.

Somtochukwu said: “I was very surprised. I am still shocked today. I have no words to express how I feel today (Wednesday).

“I thought it was a scam when they called me, I thought it was one of those random calls you get, but coming here, I can say I am happy with what happened here. I got the N1 million notice.”

Somtochukwu added that the money came at a time when he needed assistance to take care of his health.

Mojeed Aluko of Globacom’s VAS department said: “Glo Jolly Win is a lottery service where subscribers can answer quiz questions or spin a wheel to win loads of airtime and cash prizes for just N100 a day, with no downloads or storage space on their phones required.

“Subscribers can select their favorite services from the Jolly Trivia, Wheel, Win & Life options to join the fun and excitement of the lottery with the chance to become a millionaire like Somtochukwu.”

Aluko, according to a statement released by Glo on Saturday, September 14, explained that subscribers can opt for a one-time daily package or set it to renew automatically.

Aluko added: “There is also the option of a one-time weekly subscription or an auto-renewing package, while subscribers can also have a one-time monthly package or set it to auto-renew.

“Subscribers wishing to participate in the promotion are required to dial *20152# or alternatively send JWD, JWW or JWM to 20152, as applicable.”

For his part, Nitroswitch CEO Chidi Nnadozie said that his company is proud to partner with Globacom to bring excitement and rewards to Glo subscribers through the lottery.

Nnadozie added that subscribers who participate in the various offers of the Glo network will be able to enjoy and avail additional benefits.
