“Go to your parents, not from boyfriends,” says Nys to the members of the female body

The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) urged the members of the female body to return home to their parents after completing their service.

The coordinator of the state of Bauchi of the NYSC, Rifkatu Yakubu, made the call during the distribution of national service certificates to members of the Bauchi body members, Thursday 27 March 2025.

As he turns to 2024 Batch “to” Stream II female Corps, Yakubu said: “Lord, remember that your kids are not your parents.

β€œDon’t say that after collecting the certificates, you are going to your kids’ houses.

“Go home from your parents and celebrate with them. You have just completed your national service, and this is a moment to share with your family.”

He also urged the members of the body to put their skills to good use, in particular those acquired through the entrepreneurship acquisition and development program (Saed) of the NYSC.

Yakubu added: β€œAlthough you haven’t learned anything from the Saed program, it’s not too late.

“Instead of returning home to sit inactive, find something to support your parents. Use the latter indemnity wisely; invest in learning a trade.”

Yakubu also warned NYSC members from engaging in fraudulent activities such as fraud on the internet, kidnapping or ritual killings in search of rapid wealth.

He added: β€œThese are not the values that NYSC has instilled to you. You served to become members responsible for the company.

“It represents your family well, be a good ambassador of Nigeria, your institution and the NYCC.”

The NYSC Officer also recommended to members of the Corps to carefully control their national service certificates for errors before launching them.
