Google Gemini Ai Fagged as a ‘high risk’ for children, teenage users in a safety review

Google’s artificial intelligence platform, Gemini, has been marked as a “high risk” for children and adolescents by the research team in the new online safety assessment.

Evaluation, conducted by children’s safety researchers, warns that Gemini interactive features can expose minors in dangerous content, wrong information, and potential privacy violations. According to the report, AI’s ability to produce responses without filters raises concerns about its compatibility for users under 18 years.

This assessment also highlights risks associated with targeted advertisements, data collection, and the possibility of dangerous or manipulative content slipping through moderation filters. “Children and adolescents are very vulnerable to persuasive technology, and the Gemini scale strengthens the risk,” the report said.

Google, which has positioned Gemini as a middle part of the future driven by AI, is expected to face the installation of supervision of these findings. In response, the company reiterated its commitment to safety, emphasized that he had a guardrail, parental control option, and continued to improve its protective system.

“Gemini gets some of the correct foundations, but stumbled on the details,” said Senior Director of the AI Sense Media Common Sense Robbie Torney program in a statement. “AI platforms for children must meet them where they are, not taking a one-size approach for all children at various stages of development. So that AI is safe and effective for children, it must be designed with their needs and developments in the mind, not just a modification version of products built for adults,” Torney added.
