Gov. Bala’s performance responsible PDP’s victory in Bauchi – Hon. Ranga – Blueprint Newspapers Limited

A frontline lawmaker in the House of Representatives, Hon Adamu Hashimu Ranga representing Ningi/Warji Federal Constituency of Bauchi state has hailed the infrastructural, developmental and socio-economic exploits of the Executive Governor of Bauchi state, Senator Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed
He noted that this was responsible for the landslide victory of his party, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the 2023 general elections.

Hon Adamu Hashimu made this assertion in an exclusive chat with newsmen at the National Assembly Complex, Abuja recently.

According to an elated Hon Hashimu who was also celebrating his victory at the Election Tribunal: “The reason why we succeeded right from the party primaries to the general elections is due to the performance of Governor Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed.

“He has performed very well in Bauchi state, in fact we have never seen a governor that has performed so incredibly as Senator Bala Mohammed. There are many roads that have been neglected, dilapidated and abandoned for the past 40 years especially in my constituency and even local government.

“For instance, there is a 12 kilometre road that we have been trying to repair for the past 40 years with no success but under Governor Bala Mohammed the road has been completely repaired.

“Also there are so many congested areas in Bauchi Municipal that if there is a fire outbreak, the fire service will not be able to get to the location of the fire but Governor Bala Mohammed ordered the demolition of buildings and structures blocking the access roads, paid compensation and ensured there is easy access within the state capital and the people are very happy for that.

“Also Governor Bala Mohammed has constructed at least 50km of roads in each of the local governments of the state. So it is precisely because of his worthy and outstanding achievements that the people of Bauchi State voted overwhelmingly for the PDP and l believe that after Governor Bala Mohammed’s tenure, the next government will be led by the PDP”.

He also expressed satisfaction with the Election Tribunal judgement that upheld his victory in the National Assembly polls
” First and foremostly, l want to thank the Almighty God who gave me the opportunity to contest for this position and also enabled me to win the election and the tribunal case successfully.

“Secondly, l have to congratulate my people and appreciate them for supporting me morally, spiritually and otherwise to ensure that l succeeded and today is one of the happiest days of my life. The petition of my opponent was dismissed simply because it lacks any merit to challenge my election victory.

” I also congratulate my party, the PDP and my able governor, Senator Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed for giving me the opportunity to contest on the PDP platform and win the election successfully.

“Finally l have to congratulate my entire family who supported me at every point in time, advising me, comforting me and now we are rejoicing with them as today is a happy day to see our election upheld by the election tribunal. And l believe that whichever court they take us, we will prevail at the end”.

Hashimu also called on his opponents to join hands with him to move the constituency forward in the crucial scheme of things.

“My message to my opponents is that they have to accept their defeat and my victory as the will of the Almighty God. Before l won, they were in power but today it is our God given opportunity.

“They should wait for another four years to contest for the office, they may succeed the next time around but if they refuse to accept defeat, they will only be running around, spending their money all to no avail.

“So l call upon them to accept the tribunal verdict and join hands with us to improve the lot of our dear people”.

On his legislative agenda, Hon Adamu Hashimu revealed that food security, women and youth empowerment and boosting farmers’ productivity were priority areas for him.

“‘During my election campaign, many people called me: ‘Baba Mai Agenda’ because l stated that l will implement many policies and programs for my people.Just last week l provided palliatives for them by purchasing 100 bags of maize and l divided them into five measures (mudus) each in a small sack and was able to get 1,017 units from the 100 bags of maize.

“Then l bought 100 bags of grinded maize and l divided them into 3 measures each and got over 2,000 units from the grinded maize. All the units were divided into 2 because l represent 2 local governments; Ningi and Warji. 60% of the units will go to Ningi LGA because it is bigger and 40% will go to the smaller Warji LGA. And even today l purchased 100 bags of maize again to be delivered and shared to traditional rulers, religious leaders, party leaders and members of my campaign council team. And l have just been informed that the distribution of the foodstuffs is ongoing even though some of my people were attending the court proceedings which by God’s grace went successfully in my favour. The training of youths in vocational skills acquisition is also a top priority in my agenda because my constituency has one of the biggest local governments in the country and there are many youths that need employment and the only solution is to provide skills acquisition training to them. Thus l have collaborated with the Federal Ministry of Labour and Employment, Northeast Division to train 100 of our youths in various vocational skills like tailoring, welding, plumbing and piping, carpentry, joinery, car engine repair; altogether about 11 vocational occupations. 60% of the trained youths are from Ningi LGA while the other 40% are from Warji LGA. Women empowerment will soon come on board as l have bought 125 grinding machines and will deliver them to women in my constituency because women are good in business. If you give them N10,000 in six months time, it will multiply to N30,000 and by giving them the grinding machines, they will prosper by next year’s time. Also due to the economic hardship in the country, we will provide 1000 indigent students with scholarships of N30,000 each to alleviate their financial situation, 600 students from Ningi LGA and 400 students from Warji LGA. I have also made contacts in some federal agencies like the Nigerian Correctional Service, lmmigration, Civil Defence, Police etc to seek employment for our teeming youths. And as l come from an agrarian area, rich in farm produce, we have negotiated with a chemical pesticides company to provide our farmers with chemicals to eradicate weeds during the next planting season. We will like to buy large quantities of the pesticides at subsidized rates for our farmers so that they will be able to improve their agricultural output. We also have plans to rehabilitate some earth dams that have been moribund for many years like the Gulala and Karfinzaki dams. When we come back from the recess, l will table a motion for the rehabilitation of those earth dams for the ultimate benefit of Bauchi State and the entire Northeast region. Thank you,” he said.
