Tottenham Hotspur sack manager Igor Tudor

Tottenham Hotspur have announced that interim manager Igor Tudor has left the club by mutual consent after just 44 days in charge.

The decision came after a series of disappointing results, including a 5-2 defeat against Atlético Madrid in the first leg of their Champions League round of 16 tie.

The Croatian manager, hired to stabilize the club following Thomas Frank’s tenure, failed to secure a win in the Premier League, leaving Spurs just one point above the relegation zone.

The timing of Tudor’s departure coincides with the recent passing of his father, which reportedly influenced his decision.

Tottenham have confirmed that goalkeeping coach Tomislav Rogic and fitness coach Riccardo Ragnacci have also left their roles.

The club expressed gratitude for the efforts of the staff and offered its support to Tudor and his family during this difficult period.

Tudor’s brief tenure included defeats against Arsenal, Crystal Palace, Fulham and Nottingham Forest, with some tactical choices, such as that of starting goalkeeper Antonin Kinsky against Atlético Madrid, criticized for contributing to the club’s difficulties.

Despite a Champions League comeback win against Atlético in the second leg, Spurs’ form in the Premier League remained precarious, culminating in a 3–0 defeat against Forest.

With just seven rounds remaining, Tottenham face relegation, a scenario the club has avoided since the 1970s.

Reports suggest Austrian manager Adi Hutter is the leading candidate to take over, although former manager Harry Redknapp has also been linked with the role.

The club will announce the new manager in due course.
