Gov Lawal appoints Abdulkadir beautiful as 16th Emir of Gusau

The governor of the state of Zamfara, Dauda Lawal, approved the appointment of Abdulkadir Ibrahim beautiful as a sixteenth emir of Gusau, after the death of his father, Ibrahim Bello, the 15th Emir, who died on July 25 after ten years on the throne.

The announcement was made on Tuesday by the secretary of the state government, Abubakar Nakwada, who said that the appointment followed the recommendation of the Emirates Gusau Kingmakers in line with the tradition and existing laws.

Abdulkadir Bello, the eldest son of the deceased Emir, had previously held the traditional title of Bunun Gusau and is a direct descendant of the historic figure Sambo Dan Ashafa.

Governor Lawal congratulated the new Emir and accused him of supporting the legacy of his ancestors, pushing him to serve as a symbol of unity and development in the emorated.

He invited the new Emir to “be a lighthouse of unity, peace and development, promoting harmonious coexistence through the Emirate of Gusau and beyond”.
