Gov Okpebholo, residents lamented when the flood took over the main paths in Edo (Video)

Residents of the city of Benin, the capital of the state of Edo, have shouted at the Governor of Monday Okpebholo to take immediate action because the flood has taken over the main paths in the city, making life difficult and destroy their homes and livelihoods.

The governor himself was not abandoned in a mob of wapper because he also took the time to shout over floods in the state.

In a video posted on X by the user with the grip of @thebeninblogger, the Governor of Okpebholo was seen sailing flooding, and lamented that he had taken over the Highbrow of Benin Gra.

The governor also used the opportunity to throw a blow to his predecessor, Godwin Obaseki and his opponent in the Election of the State Governor, Asue Ighodalo, insinuated that they succeeded in destroying the country.

“This is the city of Edo and this is the Gra river,” he said sarcastically.

Continuing, said the Governor:
“This is the GRA River, the Obaseki River, the Asue Ighodalo River. These people are truly failed by Edo people.

“This is a problem that we face. This is how we pass here every day. We must use the feet to cross this river. There are no vehicles that can pass here. We must park our vehicles and use feet to cross this river,” he complained.

Some residents who shared their sentiments in a video that was trending about their bitter experience as a result of raging floods that had cut the main paths, especially in the Highbrow Benin Gra, Jalan Sakpoba Atas, Sapele Road, Akube Street, and Axis Ihama/Airport.

In another video shared on X some residents also heard complaining about floods that have damaged most parts of the city.

They asked the authorities to build drainage and take other precautions to curb erosion in the state.

Some tell what they have passed every time it rains. They also claimed that floods had destroyed homes and livelihoods while some people were reported to have lost their lives.

“We ask our governor to come to help us to secure our lives and property. Floods have really destroyed so many things. We need erosion control with great urgent.

“Every time it rains, we all become afraid of what will happen. Our homes and businesses have been destroyed. Some people have left their home as a result, especially Erediawa and Dumez Road. We ask the government to help us by creating drainage on the main paths,” said a resident.
