Gov. Uzodimma rewards the super Falcons stars with n30m, land for Wafcon’s victory

The governor hopes that Uzodimma of the state of imo has honored eight illustrious players and officials of Super Falcons of the State with a reward in cash of N30 million and a land land each for their exceptional performance at Africa Women’s Africa Cup (Wafcon) of 2024 in Morocco. Honored athletes include Call Nnadozie, Tochukwu Oluuehi, Osinachi Ohale, Chiwendu Ihezuo, Jennifer Echegini, Michelle Alozie, assistant coach Ann Chijine and former captain Falcons Desire oparancia. The gesture was in recognition of their role in making the state of imo and Nigeria proudly, with the continental title.

During the reception ceremony held at the Government House of Owerri, the commissioner of the State of the Sport for Sport, the Hon. Obinna Onyeocha, described players as “Golden Girls of Imo State”. He formally introduced athletes to the Governor Uzodimma in the presence of dignitaries including the deputy governor, the traditional sovereigns, the best nominated of the government and the parties concerned sports.

Mr. Godswill Chindura Echegini, father of the super Falcons star Jennifer Echegini, who flew from Europe to celebrate the team result together with the IMO state delegation, was also present. The event was marked by celebration and gratitude, since the state reiterated its commitment to supporting and gratifying sporting excellence.
