Bauchi State Governor Bala Mohammed on Tuesday presented the 2024 supplementary budget of N94.6 billion to the state House of Representatives for approval.
The governor’s request was submitted via letter and read at a plenary meeting by the House Majority Leader, Babayo Akuyam.
He said the request was in line with Article 122 of the 1999 Constitution, adding that the budget would facilitate the implementation of priority projects aimed at improving the welfare of citizens.
Mohammed reiterated his government’s commitment to infrastructure and human resource development, health and education sectors.

House Speaker Abubakar Sulaiman referred the proposed estimates to the House Committee on Budget and Allocation for further legislative action.
Sulaiman announced the formation of the DPR Food Security and Nutrition Committee.
He said the committee would work to achieve optimal nutritional status in the state.
“This committee was formed for the people of Bauchi with a focus on the most vulnerable groups, especially women and children and Internally Displaced Persons to meet their food and nutritional needs,” the speaker added.
